Visitor Center at Maine Street Station

Maine Street Station is a mixed-use development featuring retail and office space, residential condominiums, an inn, and a train station. Within steps of Bowdoin College, a stop on the Maine Eastern excursion line, and a future stop for Amtrak, this facility offers a warm welcome to the charms of Brunswick, Maine.

The Visitor Center is located at 16 Station Avenue.  The telephone number is 207-721-0999.

Byrne's Irish Pub, Scarlet Begonias Italian restaurant, and Park Row Interiors, together with three transportation-agency anchors, add vitality to the setting, which will feature outdoor special events in spring and summer.

Already the Station is a destination for Maine Eastern Railroad, which provides train service between Brunswick and Rockland three seasons of the year.  Currently trains leave Brunswick for Rockland twice a day Wednesday through Saturday, and once a day on Sunday.  For a full schedule, visit the MER website.

As part of the Obama Administration's economic recovery plan, $35 million was awarded to the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA) to extend Amtrak's Downeaster tracks and service through from Boston and Portland to Freeport and Brunswick, Maine.  This work is scheduled to be completed within two years.

Even now the Visitor Center provides a logical first stop for out-of-towners to get acquainted with our lovely coastal town, its dining and retail establishments, cultural offerings, and the recreational and scenic attractions that surround us.

Become a Greeter at the Visitor Center!

Welcome newcomers to our town!
